It is said that water can both overturn and carry a ship. Either way, we know that the power of clean water is invaluable to our customers.

Our history

NOVATEK A.S was founded in 1989 by Dag Nordbye, Håkan Spång and Per Erik Halkinrud, with the latter two still working in the business.
Novatek was established to offer the best possible technology available, both environmentally, technically and economically. The operation has always focused on finding the best possible solution for our customers and thus tailoring solutions to their needs. In addition to delivering new plants, Novatek has been a total supplier to our customers by supplying chemistry, spare parts, training and service on existing plants.

Novatek has had its main customers in Norway, but has delivered plants in large parts of the world. Over the years, Novatek has used its expertise to offer services to new market areas. One area of focus is the construction industry and larger facilities with both design, establishment and operation. In 2022, Novatek was acquired by Ernströmgruppen and is today a 100% owned subsidiary, which is very positive for the company.

World-class networking

Novatek became part of the Erström Group in 2022. The Erström Group owns entrepreneur-driven companies that will be developed by focusing on sustainability, innovation and digitalization.
The Group is a long-term owner that supports the companies in their strategy. The managers in the Erström Group are managing entrepreneurs rather than CEOs. Through their ownership, Novatek gains access to more expertise, more capacity and more capital. This helps to ensure delivery and development at Novatek.

This gives us the opportunity to focus on our customers and employees, and to focus on sustainability for future generations.

A culture characterized by a willingness to succeed, support where needed and an inclusive community is the foundation for future success.

Sibelco
